Past issues
of Dr. Zimmerman’s “TUESDAY TIPS”
are now available in E-Book format! |
Dear Friend:
I began writing my “Tuesday Tips” back in June of 2000. I
had a few hundred subscribers—and I thought that was a big
deal. Now there are hundreds of thousands of people who
receive my weekly, Internet newsletter. And the feedback has
been phenomenal.
Power of the
“Tuesday Tips”
In fact, I get notes from people every day, telling me how
one of my “Tuesday Tips” hit home. They’ll say they got an
idea that dramatically improved their workplace, advanced
their career, or saved their marriage.
|
|
Carrie Farella, an RN with
Nursing Spectrum magazine wrote one such note. She said:
“Your inspirational tips have changed my life…it sounds
corny, but it’s true. I have a new high-profile,
high-powered communications position. I beat out 60 other
candidates for the job. My secret? I read your ‘Tuesday Tip’
before my first 5-hours of interviewing and knocked them
dead.” |
|
And this note came from a
school district. Susan Albert, of the Virginia Beach City
Public Schools said: “We have had great responses to your
‘Tuesday Tips.’ The principal liked them so much that he now
forwards them to the entire faculty. We were in a very
negative department with negative comments and auras
everywhere. Your ‘Tuesday Tips’ are turning things around.” |
Popularity of the
“Tuesday Tips”
I’ve got hundreds of notes like that. People are talking
about the great results they’re getting from my “Tuesday
Tips.” In fact, the “Tips” are so good, so powerful, and so
practical, that my readers want to make sure their
coworkers, friends, and family members get in on the action.
They pass them on to the people they care about—which, of
course, is the strongest possible testimonial.
|
| |
|
Robert A. Craven, the
director of Finance at the Mayo Clinic wrote: “I can’t tell
you how much we at Mayo appreciate the ‘Tuesday Tip.’ After
I get it, I send it to the entire Finance Department
Management Group, which is about 100 people. And many of
them send it on to all of their employees, which is another
500 people. Last week’s issue was so powerful and so useful
to both the management people and to us and our children
that I’ve had lots of responses from people thanking me for
sending it. God bless you in the work you are doing!! It’s
making a difference in our lives.” |
|
Similar letters come from
around the world. Theo Schijf wrote from Holland. He said,
“When I worked for Lucent Technologies, I passed your ‘Tips’
on to my team of managers. It was amazing the amount of
discussion they generated. Now I pass them on to my
brothers, sisters, and friends, and I also send it to my
mother. She’s 80 years old, and she translates your ‘Tips’
into Dutch, and then she passes the translated tips on to
her non-English speaking friends. Just wanted you to know
your words travel a long way.” |
Past “Tuesday Tips” Constantly Requested
Unfortunately, there’s a problem. Some people started getting
the “Tuesday Tips” several years ago, and they’ll often ask me
if I can send them a “Tip” from a long time ago. They need it
and can’t find it.
Other people are more recent subscribers. They never had access
to all of my previous “Tips.” And so they’ll say, “Send me all
of your ‘Tips’ for the last 4 years.” Or they’ll ask, “How do I
get everything you’ve ever written on customer service,
motivation, attitude, leadership … or any number of other
topics?”
Well, I finally listened to all your requests. I bit the bullet.
I took two solid weeks out of my schedule, and I went through
every one of the “Tips.” I removed all the extraneous material
and reformatted everything into beautiful, easily readable, and
highly accessible documents.
In fact, I took your feedback into account. I noticed that many
of you took my one-sentence tip and were turning them into
one-page posters that you were hanging in your offices. Great
idea. So the first part of my “Tips,” the first part you’ll get
is the one-sentence “Tip” formatted like a poster. Then you’ll
get one to three pages of my commentary on each “Tip.” And
finally, you’ll get a separate page for your notes and the
actions you’ll take. I think it’s a format that you’re really
going to like.
I put the “Tuesday Tips” into 19 different PDF documents that
you download onto your computer. I created 5 volumes by year,
and I created 14 volumes by topic. So you can have them at your
fingertips for years to come. You can even print them out and
share them others.
|
That’s what Naomi Wheeldon
does at Tillamook Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Naomi
writes: “Just wanted to let you know how much your ‘Tuesday
Tips’ have helped my Housekeeping staff. After you spoke at
our Managers’ meeting, I started printing the ‘Tuesday Tip’
and leaving it on the break room table. I have to say there
has been a positive change in attitude within the staff
during this time. They all look forward to Tuesday to see
what words of wisdom you have to offer. They now stop and
think about the other person instead of jumping to
conclusions or blaming others for what might be their fault.
Again, my thanks to you for making this information and
insight available.” |
| |
I urge you to invest in your own copies of the
“Tuesday Tips.” I know you won’t be disappointed with this purchase. I guarantee
it! The “Tuesday Tips” will give you the motivational insights, the
communication skills, and the leadership strategies you will need to be more and
more successful in life and work.
Sincerely, Dr. Alan
Zimmerman
