Tuesday Tip FAQ's
Instructions for signing up for "Dr. Zimmerman's Tuesday Tip. "
- Enter your email address in the box above the word subscribe. Make sure your email address is correct. (you@anycompany is not correct you@anycompany.com is)
- Click on the subscribe button.
- Once you click on the subscribe button you will see a page that will state: Thank you for signing up for "Dr. Zimmerman's Tuesday Tip."
- The email address entered will receive a confirmation email. Note: "Dr. Zimmerman's Tuesday Tip" is set up with what is called a "double opt-in " This means the email address entered will be required to send a confirmation email back to us confirming your request to be added to our mailing list. This is to be sure that the email address entered really requested to be on the mailing list. This is for your protection against SPAM. But it also means the email address entered will need to follow the instructions below to make sure the Tip is received.
- Our mailing list server will send you a message to confirm that you actually want to receive the newsletter. This is an extra step intended to reduce SPAM and unwanted email pranks.
- Please go and check your email now and reply to the confirmation message. There will be a link in this email. You must click on this link in this email to be sure you will receive the Tip. If you do not respond, your subscription will not be activated.
- This email will be from Alan@DrZimmerman.com The subject will be "Confirm Subscription to Dr. Zimmerman's Tuesday Tip"
- If you do not receive this confirmation request within a few minutes, then the most likely problem is that you use a SPAM filter (see below) or that there was a typo in your email address.
- If you do not receive this email, then please return to the website and enter your address in the "Tuesday Tip" signup box again.
Help! I have signed up for Dr. Zimmerman’s “Tuesday Tip” and I am not receiving it!
Every week, I hear from several people who say they've been dropped from the “Tuesday Tip.” They tell me they used to get it, but they haven't received it the last few weeks or months. They're wondering what happened, and they want to be back on the subscription list. First, we NEVER add anyone to the “Tuesday Tip” who does not request a subscription. Second, we NEVER delete anyone from the “Tuesday Tip” unless they ASK to be removed. So if you're not getting the “Tuesday Tip,” your organization, your IT people, or your web host is probably blocking it. Many times they perceive a mailing as large and as popular as the “Tuesday Tip” to be spam and filter it out before you have a chance to get it. In most cases, all you have to do is tell your IT people that this is a REQUESTED email that youwant to receive. They'll make sure it gets through to you. And if that doesn't work, sign up for another FREE subscription using your home email address.Just go to the home page of my web site to sign up, and I’ll even give you a FREE book for yourtrouble. Just click here to see the latest “Tip.”With all of the SPAM out there, there are many precautions people use to guard against unwanted junk email. Unfortunately, many legitimate, asked-for emails never reach the subscriber. Here's what you can do to make sure you receive the Tip.
- If you use a junk email or SPAM filter, "Whitelist" or "Buddy List Approve" our newsletters "from" address. The newsletters are sent with Newsletter@DrZimmerman.com as the "from" address.
- Add Newsletter@DrZimmerman.com to your email software address book.
- Each Tip's subject line will all be in lower case and will include the correct date. Spammers will not include the date and lower case helps bypass the SPAM filters.
- If you work for a larger company, you will need to let your IT Department know you wish to receive this newsletter and to put it on their approved list. This is very important to let your email administrator know that you have asked for this email using your work email address. Some companies will not allow any outside email to come from any source, so check with your companies policy. If this is the case then talk to your manager and have them request that someone in IT receive the Tip and then for them to send it onto those in the company who want it. Many companies are willing to do this, but you will need to work with them.
- If you use a "free" email address such as Hotmail or Yahoo, make sure you keep this email account clean and that all filters are off for the Tip. they only allow a very small amount of space and if your email gets filled up, the Tip will be rejected. After 3 rejections, your email address is automatically deleted from our list.
- If you use AOL do not use the report SPAM control to unsubscribe from the Tip. There is a very easy unsubscribe link at the bottom of every Tip. Make sure your SPAM controls are set to accept the Tip's from address. (Click here for more detailed instructions on how to unsubscribe or change your email address for the Tip.)
- If all else fails enter in your home email address.
